Calorific value of (LDO ) and (heavy Diesel) ?

(OP)
hello,

I operate a 660kg/hr steam boiler(LDO fired)and also a hot oil generator(2lakh cal/hr) using the regular DIESEL from the gas station.

We plan to start using LDO, and for this. I'am trying to find out the calorific values of both the normal diesel and LDO. LDO happens to be cheaper, but is it feasible?

Any suggesions? Should we switch over to LDO or continue using the regular DIESEL???

Thankyou !

RE: Calorific value of (LDO ) and (heavy Diesel) ?

Have you considered sending a sample of the oil(s) to a commercial test lab. There has to a standard ASTM test procedure for oils which will give you all the necessary information; a qualified lab could give you such guidance.
