Side Channel Air Blowers

Side Channel Air Blowers

Side Channel Air Blowers

(OP)
I have an application requiring 120 l/m (4.25 ft3/min) of air at 10 kpa (1.5 psi) and I need to power it from 12v DC, 10A max.  The project is in prototype stage and I will probably make a unit to test the idea.

Whilst I know how side channel blowers work, I have no idea how to calculate the flow, pocket size, power consumption and other data needed to size the components.  Can anyone assist or point me in the direction of a commercially available unit.  I live in Australia.

Try either Rietschle Thomas www.rtpumps.com maybe their SKGS 200-2 would work for you.  Or there's Siemens.

Only 1.5 psi, low power: The quick, cheap, and, easy solution is to use 120VAC home aquarium compressors powered via an inverter from your 12VDC source.  Buy the parts off the shelf and assemble.
