dc-ac converter for single phase induction motor

dc-ac converter for single phase induction motor

(OP)
Hi there,

I'm currently designing a dc-ac converter for a single phase induction motor which using PWM bipolar.I need some schematics diagram of the circuit.Or anyone who can help me in improve my design to a low cost dc-ac converter?
Thank you very much for everyone's help.

Regards,
Trinity

RE: dc-ac converter for single phase induction motor

Be careful. Transistor PWM output systems do not like capacitor start motors, and in larger sizes where universal motors are no longer used, the vast majority of 1 phase AC motors are capacitor start.

RE: dc-ac converter for single phase induction motor

PWM inverters are OK for single phase induction motors provided that the output is put through a sinusoidal filter so that the output voltage is a clean sinewave, the output is capable of supplying locked rotor current and the frequency is equal to the rated operating frequency of the motor. By the time all this is done, it is often cheaper to use a three phase motor and standard single phase to three phase inverter. (You can run these off DC)
