Bolt Tension

Ok, i'm new to SW's. I don't have the toolbox. I made my own bolt. It's going to hold to pieces together with a specified load. How do i make the program see the compression load at the jointed areas for the FEA analysis?

Thank You

RE: Bolt Tension

This is dependant on the FEA program you are using (Cosmos, Ansys...etc.)

In other words, this is not a SWX question, but an FEA question.

RE: Bolt Tension

Crapshooter,

The load cases will be defined in whatever FEA program you import the SWx data into....just remember don't put threads in bearing.

Best Regards,

Heckler

RE: Bolt Tension

If you search this forum you'll find some very interesting technics to simulate fastener loads.
