old Sheffield bar joists - need info

old Sheffield bar joists - need info

old Sheffield bar joists - need info

(OP)
I inspected an old building with some Sheffield made steel bar joists.  Does anybody have an allowable load table for these things.

The tag I pulled off the joist reads 1326A 1806-330

They are 18" joists.

Thanks,
Chris Kranzler

RE: old Sheffield bar joists - need info

I don't have the data but Steel Joist Institute sells a historic joist catalog which covers all SJI joists in the last several decades.  I think the book costs about $85 direct from SJI.

Also, I have found the customer service at several of the joist manufacturers usually willing to help you out.  Call one of them up and ask to speak with one of their engineers.  Usually these guys have this historic joist catalog and are willing to help you out.
