Generic Part already existing as a Part on saving

Generic Part already existing as a Part on saving

Generic Part already existing as a Part on saving

(OP)
Has anyone encountered this problem when saving a part which has at one stage been converted into a generic? It flashes up an error saying the part already exists in another family table and will not let anything save. If so, how is the problem fixed??? We are running Wildfire 2 :-( Cut 060.

Cheers

Craig Gluyas

RE: Generic Part already existing as a Part on saving

You need to delete the versions of the old family table generic that contain the individual generic as an instance. Then you can include the part in the new family table as an instance.

"Wildfires are dangerous, hard to control, and economically catastrophic."
"Fixed in the next release" should replace "Product First" as the PTC slogan.
