Log Home Construction

(OP)
I'm looking for technical information on the design of log homes and the log building envelope, in particular corners, penetrations door and window openings, log trusses, etc.

I've got a client that wants a 6800 sq.ft.(decimal place is correct <G>), two storey home with garage/loft with the loft connected to the main home.

I've got concerns about differential movement due to tangential/radial shrinkage and detailing joints to keep water out (minimize rot problems).

Any sites or good literature info would be appreciated.

Thanks for the link, but I've been there... Mostly manufacturers and little technical info.

Thanks for the link... will run it down...

Picked up a book "The Owner Built Log House" by B.Allan Mackie that has some detailing info in it and a little tekkie stuff, also some email links.
