Sanitary Sewer pH probe

Sanitary Sewer pH probe

Sanitary Sewer pH probe

(OP)
Hello,

I am currently trying to mount a pH probe in an industrial sanitary sewer.  The sewer has occasional large solids travel through, and it is imperative the probe does not block the objects, and plug up the flow.  The probe has to be removable from the surface (12 feet) through a 4'diameter manhole.  My thought was to use a long rigid pipe (slightly less than 12') and attach a hinge/spring/coupling to another small section of pipe, which is then attached to the probe.  The idea is that the probe will be able to temporarily move out of the way of large objects, and then return to the stream.
The problem is finding a hinge/coupling/spring that can survive in a corrosive, 50 degree C, environment, and is flexible enough to allow solids to pass, but resistant enough to keep the probe fairly vertical in a fast moving stream.  Any ideas for manufacturers that can/do produce something like this?

Any help is much appreciated.

RE: Sanitary Sewer pH probe

Talk to your local Endress & Hauser rep. They have an isolateable system for pH probe. Or follow the link below and look for pH/ORP instrument.
