Hi Guys,

is it possible to use carbon steel or stainless steel in tubes of  Furfural condensers?

Tin= 450 ºF  Pin=80 psi
Tout= 400 ºF Pout= 45 psi

have you ever seen this in the manufacturing of lubricant?
I belive that the tubes must be made of aluminum
does any body know why?

furfural is a highly reactive alcohol and may be sensitive to metal catalysts. Try the chemical guys.
