Dear all,

Does any body know how I can use the element contact instead of surface contact. Who knows the tube to tube contact.

RE: Element contact

Saeed,
You'll have to be more specific. The contact procedures in ABAQUS check for contact between elements, although surfaces are used to specify the elements faces in question, e.g.

*ELGEN, ELSET=ECONTSURF1
** etc
*SURFACE, TYPE=ELEMENT,  NAME=SCONT1
ECONTSURF1  , S1
** etc

What exactly do you want to do?

RE: Element contact

Dear sir,

Thank you for your kind attention.

My model is coaxial two cylinder with different mechanical properties that fixed in one end and applied tensile load in another end (because of symmetry I run a quarter of this model). In this model I have some problems with  surface contact and element contact may help me.
