Subsea Floating Ball Valve

Subsea Floating Ball Valve

Subsea Floating Ball Valve

(OP)
Does anyone know of a supplier who offers small bore (1-4") floating ball valves suitable for subsea service to depths as deep as 5000 ft?  I've had been pointed in the direction of Cooper-Camereron, but all they had were typically larger bore, trunnion style ball valves that were extremely expensive.

RE: Subsea Floating Ball Valve

What are you expecting for a Subsea valve? a cheap design?.
If it's Subsea (5000ft)this must be strong enough to withstand the external pressure.I do not know your design conditions but must be at least 1500# rated. Then to stroke the valve you need an actuator with ROV overide system.
In order to work an actuated ball valve must be trunion mounted.
No other way.

RE: Subsea Floating Ball Valve

Dear aggieengineerrmb,

Recently found small bore floating ball style valve in UK for contractor in Stavanger Norway. Note, generally  trunnion mounted ball vales perform better in serve or sub sea services. We had a number of 1/2", 1" & 2" float ball valves made by Alco Sub-Tek UK. See www.deepwater-valves.com, this might help you. If not try Roustabout magazine perhaps - a good source of SS engineering data.

RE: Subsea Floating Ball Valve

For many applications, a floating ball valve provide a good alternative to the more expensive trunnion mounted type, also for depths of 5000ft...
Try norwegian valve manufacturer Asker Subsea. Sizes from 1" to 4" should cost approx. £1000-£5000 depending on material...
