SW2005 SP0.1

(OP)
Service pack 0.1 of SW2005 is now available for download at the SW website.

RE: SW2005 SP0.1

would like to hear from anyone if there is a noticible change

RE: SW2005 SP0.1

I think the only change you will see is the ability to run SW2005 on XP-SP2 with more stability.

RE: SW2005 SP0.1

If you were having a font kerning issue (lettering is smooshed together) SP0.1 fixes this problem.

RE: SW2005 SP0.1

Why a 0.1?
It seems to me that SP0.0 has problems critical enough to make it unusable for serious work. We deserve a 1.0!

Regards

RE: SW2005 SP0.1

It doesn't matter what they call it ... as long as it works!

RE: SW2005 SP0.1

Would you guys say it is safe to install now for production use company wide?

RE: SW2005 SP0.1

We have.  Have had a few section view issues but for the most part everything has been ok.

RE: SW2005 SP0.1

Will this work with Windows XP SP2? I got the following off the SolidWorks Web Site.

10/22/04    Bulletin - Support for Win XP Pro SP2
SolidWorks will support Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP2 as of SolidWorks 2004 SP5.0 and SolidWorks 2005 SP0.1. It is not recommended that you update to this Windows service pack until the indicated SolidWorks service packs.

According to our VAR, compatibility with XP SP2 was the primary reason for SW releasing 2005 SP0.1.

RE: SW2005 SP0.1

According to our needs, SP0.1 will allow you to borrow  floating license from SW Network License Server installed with XP SP2. The Windows Firewall embedded within SP2 prevents the License Server of SW SP0.0 lending license to other SW seats via network.
