Using Online CAD Libraries?

Using Online CAD Libraries?

Using Online CAD Libraries?

(OP)
Hi,
I have a question regarding downloading non-native Pro/E files:
Is there a trick to getting .igs files to show as complete solids?  Often when I am downloading parts off of the Web, the only option is use .igs for a particular file.  When I open the part in Pro/E, not all of the geometry is shown as solid - some of it remains wireframe. Very frustrating.
Does anyone have any helpful hints?

btw....I am using Pro/E 2001.

Thanks,

JW

RE: Using Online CAD Libraries?

Redefine the IGES entity. Choose "Attributes" and check "Make Solid".  If Pro cannot convert the surfaces to a solid, you will have to heal some of the geometry.

donha,
Thanks for the input.
I did try your suggestions. I haven't had any luck with the "heal geometry" option.  I have though, had some luck importing the models as ACIS (*.sat).  Pro/E displays some errors however, the models appear to be correct.

Thanks again,

JW
