Rubber strip?

Rubber strip?

Rubber strip?

(OP)
Sorry to be such a noob, lol, but Im looking for ideas what/where to look on the next (what to search for even!) to find profiled rubber edging strip to slot around a laser cut sheet metal plate as a safety and cushioning feature.

Google hasnt been succesful with "Rubber Edging sheetmetal" etc yet, so Im wondering if theres some wacky term for this stuff like there tends to be in engineering sometimes lol.

Preferably, it wants to fit around the edge of a flat laser cut plate triangular in shape with substantial radius corners, and if possible overlap the face of the box body which its fastening to the side of.

Closest comparison I can think of is like in your car door window surround, or windscreen (windshield in the usa?) where the glass is snug inside a cut to length or continuous profile, however I would also like (if possible) to have that edgeing flare off to the posts surrounding the 'car window' to cover up the sheetmetal box edges neatly.

Im struggling to find many suitable companies on the net or finding what terminology to look for because this isnt in my working field!

 Cheers chaps :)

RE: Rubber strip?

McMaster Carr sells the stuff, if you can find the right one to suit you.  www.mcmaster.com
They are a big US wholesale "hardware & miscellaneous" dealer, do mail order.

RE: Rubber strip?

If you are prepared to buy 2 or 300 metres, rubber extrusion dies are not expensive and you can have exactly what you want.

Sirius2,
As tygerdawg suggests, try trimlok.  We use their products in applications very similar to yours and they work well.
