Clearing the selection in Catia V5

Clearing the selection in Catia V5

Caita often leaves the last element high-lighted (selected) after it's created. One has to select in open background space to clear the selection to move onto other fuctions. In very large assemblies, scrolling out to select in space can be a pain. Is there any way of clearing the selection without clicking in open space.

RE: Clearing the selection in Catia V5

Yes there is another way...

Press ESC, one or two times

This will do the trick for you!

Thanks, the 'double ECS' works. I've been hitting ECS once and that didn't work.

RE: Clearing the selection in Catia V5

Usually, when I have to use the ESC key, I'm PO'd, and I usually hit it 6 or 8 times.

RE: Clearing the selection in Catia V5

another option is to select a different icon (Line works well) to reset the selection and then re-select the icon you want to use.

I have a blank catscript tied to a stop icon on a menu bar and this does the trick well also it is good for ending a selection when using a vba interactively.
