Type S2 Earthquake
Type S2 Earthquake
(OP)
Hi all
I am working with an earthquake design and have a question.
I have i response spectrum, so far so good, but would for verification purposes like to run a time-history analysis. My problem is that I don't have the required time-history data.
Does anybody know where I can find time-history data for a S2 Earthquake according to IEC 60980. Any source to download data or buy a book?
Any help is appreciated

RE: Type S2 Earthquake
Please specify the coordinate points that define the response spectrum and the damping value. I can then synthesize a time history to satisfy the spectrum.

Thank you for your reply.
That offer sounds intresting. I looked att your site and noted that you have software that does exactly what I ask for (srs_syn.exe and jsynth.exe). If my assumption is correct then can you let me know, I will simply join and download. It's the first time I encounter the problem but I know it will occur again because this type of project will be arouns for a while.

Yes, please try the jsynth.exe and srs_syn.exe programs.
I can modify them if necessary to meet your specification.

RE: Type S2 Earthquake
I just wanted to let you know that I downloaded your software and it works just fine. At first it didn't look to good because I thought I would have to manually input all the time-history data into the FEM-software manually but but today it is very simple and nearly automatic.
And your software solved the problem in an elegant manner (at least in my humble opinion).
Thanks
