Modeling a External tooth star washer
Modeling a External tooth star washer
(OP)
Hi All,
I am not very conversant with Pro/Sheetmetal module and I need to model a #10 external 12-tooth star washer [0.405" OD, 0.022" thick, 410 Stainless steel]. We are using WestCoast Lockwasher company's product.
The problem lies in the fact that the teeth/lobes are bent in both directions w.r.t. horizontal. For a given tooth, 1/2 tooth bends upwards while the other half bends down.
Does anyone have a 3d model for this? I checked Pro/E stuff site but the model there doesn't work. I would appreciate if someone gives me a guideline on how to do it.
Thanks in advance,
Jaya

I would need to show them in exploded assembly indicating the locations. I also need to create a detailed drawing for this part (although it is a std. part!), hence the need to model this as accurately as possible.
Basically this washer is being used to provide ground contact between two painted surfaces [the teeth break the paint and assure metal-metal contact].
Thanks,
Jay
