Hello all. Let me begin by first saying that I am new to this site, and it seams to have a ton of great information. Anyways, I am looking for good books regarding the installation, testing, operation, and maintanence of switchgear. Let me also say that i am not an engineer, I am an electrician. To be honest, i know very little about switchgear, but want to learn as much as i can about it. Any good books on generation/transmission/distribution would be great. Keep in mind my job is to install it, not design it. :) Well, any input would be great. Thanks!

You can purchase a copy from ABB at the following link:

Another book I think of is the J&P Switchgear Book. I haven't seen the book myself, but if it is written like the J&P Transformer Book, it will be excellent. Maybe someone with this book can give his/her comments..? Do a search on www.bookfinder.com
But I would rather contact switchgear manufacturers (or visit their websites) and ask for manuals or brochures.
Regards
Ralph
