Opposite of "in-house"?

Opposite of "in-house"?

Opposite of "in-house"?

(OP)
I can't seem to think of a good phrase for the opposite of "in-house", as in "in-house testing."  My minds a blank...

As much as I hate the phrase. We "out source" our testing.

"out-house testing"?

Well, out sourcing is much better than out-housing for sure.  I can be long-winded in writing a new validation test plan, but would prefer to be economic with my choice of words.

Extraneous testing?

Unaffiliated Testing?

I don't know, check Thesaurus.com for a few options...

RE: Opposite of "in-house"?

I vote for "out source" or "subcontracted" testing

RE: Opposite of "in-house"?

Out-of-house testing is accurate as being the opposite of in-house testing as long as the phrase in-house testing was used and an opposite description was also required in the same document

RE: Opposite of "in-house"?

I would have to say that a lot of work that I have seen "out-housed" looks as if that's exactly where it belongs!

RE: Opposite of "in-house"?

And is the opposite of.

RE: Opposite of "in-house"?

Julian,
You beat me to it!
We have the same problem here.

RE: Opposite of "in-house"?

"contract" testing

RE: Opposite of "in-house"?

Thanks for the sanity check all.  I decided to use "contract testing".

"Contract test, 24hr salt spray in accordance with ASTM B117-97, conduct test per FMVSS 49 CFR ยง571.403 S7.3."
