Corrugated Hose Pressure Drop

Corrugated Hose Pressure Drop

Corrugated Hose Pressure Drop

(OP)
hello Everyone,

I have been set the task to calculate the pressure drop down a 3ft length of stainless steel corrugated hose for steam. Does anyone know any sources to enable me to calculate the pressure drop. I have obtained several data sheets from corrugated hose manufacturers, but I would also like to carry out a hand calculation to compare the results. I have got a Metal Hoses manual by Witzenmann but the graphs are not very accurate when reading of values. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,

Simon

RE: Corrugated Hose Pressure Drop

Hi Simon

try the following web page www.hosemaster.com/product_t_pressure.asp

It gives pressure drop in corrugateed metal hoses for air and for water

Also have a look at Thread378-101803 which is mainly about pressure drop across expansion joints but also gives other references including convoluted metal hose.
