Safety Valve

(OP)
We came across a little issue with our process drains and are now forced to pipe a safety/relief valve to a common header in order avoid further damage.  However in 'good engineering practice' this was supposed to be piped in order to avoid and undo stresses during operation with pipe travel.  I was thinking of having a bellows expansion joint fabricated, would this be against boiler or B31.1 power piping code and has anyone come across this issue before.  This is a safety valve off our FW pump with 3000 psi @ 330F.

RE: Safety Valve

You could also use a flexible ball joint in the line if you're concerned about pipe stress. Bellows will eventually have to be inspected on a regular basis for fatigue.
There are a couple of companies that make these flexible ball joints.
I'm familiar with one in Chula Vista California called Hyspan. They also make the bellows type conectors that you're referring to.

TV

RE: Safety Valve

WHy not use expansion loops (for thermal growth) and anchors (arrest the reaction force) to avoid the problem?  Then you don't have to worry about leaky bellows or ball joints.
