Want to cut a 3d sketch

Want to cut a 3d sketch

(OP)
Produced a sketch in 3d, and I want to extruded cut the sketch but the tool is not lit or highlighted to show that it is active.

Anyone?

RE: Want to cut a 3d sketch

You have to first have a solid before you can use the cut. Second you have to provide it a direction. That's what that pink box is below the distance is. You provide a plane or a sketched direction and the 3D sketch will follow.

RE: Want to cut a 3d sketch

Hey Scott,
I do have a solid that the sketch is on but the cut is inactive, I have now closed the sketch but the cut tool remains unactive.

How do I give it a direction if the tool is inactive?

Chris.
