dim units from metric to inches

dim units from metric to inches

(OP)
I just pulled a dxf off of one of our suppliers web sites in dxf format. when I pull up the drawing (in dwg format) and try to get a diminsion between two holes it comes out in cm. In the dim style manager box, under primary units the unit format is Decimal.   My question is how do I made my dimensions show up in inches?

Thank You,
DKDragon

RE: dim units from metric to inches

You must set your dimension scale to 2.54, then you can either select Architechtural primary units, or leave it as decimal and enter a " symbol in the suffix box.  I would select Arch units, because that will automatically go to feet if you have any dim over 12".  A " suffix will always read inches...61" versus 5'-1", etc.

RE: dim units from metric to inches

If you want to work in metric but have dimensions come out in inches, just do what was stated previously. If you want 1 inch to be 1.00 when you measure or list it, you will have to physically scale the entities.
