BMC composite for online painting

BMC composite for online painting

BMC composite for online painting

(OP)
I'm investigating BMC in a automotive part for online painting with a electrocoating owen of 200 degrees C for 15-30 min.

I know SMC's are available that can handle this temperature with the right surface treatment, vacuum assisted moulding etc. BMC is needed in this case for geomtrical reasons.

However I find no examples of BMC being painted online after being subjected to EC owens. I can imagine fiberends in the surface is a problem. These fiberends I expect can cause pores and pinholes.

Anyone who knows of trials?
