arrows in auto cad dimensions

(OP)
hello

having trouble with autocad dimensions. if my demension gets to a certain size the arrows automatically pop out of the dimension line. this happens even if there is room still for the arrows. how can I change the setting tokeep them inside. right now my arrows are .125 in size as is my text. if I change the arrow to .100. it fits fine but is not correct. In Microstation I can change the setting to force arrows between the extension lines. is there a way I can change the setting so I can make them fit aside exploding the dimension and working with lines and arrows by themselves? thanks for any help

RE: arrows in auto cad dimensions

In the Fit tab of the DDIM dialog, there are a few settings for arrows, lines and text.

Generally, the variable DIMATFIT (which replaced DIMFIT in R2000 and after) controls when the arrows are used where.  Try help dimatfit.  FOr you, a setting of 2 seems best.
