Exref Layer State Problems

Exref Layer State Problems

Exref Layer State Problems

(OP)
I have a problem I hope someone can solve for me.  In drawings which I have already completed and worked in, I have a problem with the xrefs.  When I change a layer state (freeze, unfreeze, color changes etc.) in the xref file, the changes do not update in the drawing file to which it is xref'd.  Linework changes update fine, only layer states do not update.  I have tried regen, unload then reload, etc.. with no luck.  I have to detach, then reattach the xref to update the layer states.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?  Is this a system setting which can be changed?  I have many files (around 100) in one project where I have changed the drawing border xref, and I don't want to spend the time to detach/reattach in each file.

Thanks very much.

Wow thanks for quick reply.  I will try that out tomorrow at work and let you know if it works.

THanks again.

Well, it works. THanks.  Just have to remember that any changes made to layers in the drawing will be overwritten every time I load the drawings, and revert back to the xref file settings.
