I need to show a co-worker how 2 components with  supercritical shafts can successfully transmit power through 2 couplings with a spacer or spool piece. The issue is rotordynamics, especially the effects brought onby  coupling bending stiffness and spacer "critical speed."

A picture showing a gas or steam turbine coupled to a generator, or a high speed gearbox would probably suffice.

Stop at:  http://www.ormat.com/index_technology.htm
and go to "Technology" then Choose Geothermal Power plant and then "Geothermal Combined Cycle Power Plants".

If you wish to have a closer look,  I can send you pictures of the plants.
