eDrawings with AutoCAD and Solidworks

eDrawings with AutoCAD and Solidworks

eDrawings with AutoCAD and Solidworks

(OP)
I just had to re-install all the software on my computer after a hard driver crash.  Now when I start AutoCAD or open a drawing file in Solidworks the eDrawings toolbar comes up in both.  Also, when I start AutoCAD the eDrawings logo appears in the middle of the screen, which it didn't do that before the hard drive crashed. Does anyone know how to turn this off?

Thanks,
mncad

Question: How can I turn off eDrawings in AutoCAD without uninstalling eDrawings?

Answer: The eDrawings loads in as an add-in under the Tools, Load Application menu. In AutoCAD, look under the Tools, Load Application and remove the 'eDrawing' reference from the list. If the eDrawing menu item still shows up in AutoCAD, this can be removed by going to the Autocad_install\Support folder and manually deleting all of the "EDW" files there (such as edw.mnc, edw.mnl, edw.mns etc). Keep in mind if you delete these files, you will have to re-install eDrawings to get it to work again.

RE: eDrawings with AutoCAD and Solidworks

Thanks Scott for your tip, I was looking to rid my AutoCAD of eDrawings too. I found that I had to manually delete the edw.mnc/l/s files AND the .arx file too. Now AutoCAD loads quickly again.
