calculation of liquid-film thickness

calculation of liquid-film thickness

calculation of liquid-film thickness

(OP)
Dear friends

i searched many papers and books, and also internet

for a formula to calculate liquid-film thickness in two
phase(liquid-gas), annular-mist  flow in the pipes

if any one can provide me with this formula ,i will be very thankfull

thanks

RE: calculation of liquid-film thickness

The proper way seems to be the use of a critical Weber number, defined as We= rhol*u2*delta/sigma
rhol    liquid specific mass    (kg/m3)
u   velocity
delta   film thicknerss
sigma   surface tension of liquid

If you search the net with the Weber number keyword you should find lots of references.
I tend to use 8-13 as the critical number, but this may not be relevant for your case.  Definitly check before!
Hope this helps
