Changing item numbers in balloons and BOM in Solid Works

Changing item numbers in balloons and BOM in Solid Works

Changing item numbers in balloons and BOM in Solid Works

(OP)
How can I change ITEM Number in a balloon and reflect it in BOM? I used autoballoon or individual balloons, but onceSW assigns item # it would not let me change it after the first balloon inserted. I can change it to the custom #, but then I can not update BOM Item #.
Thanks!

In your Assembly, Drag (or Alt+Drag) your components up or down the Feature Manager tree in order to renumber them in your Drawing.

RE: Changing item numbers in balloons and BOM in Solid Works

Pick the BOM so it is highlighted.  In the left pane, choose "BOM Contents" (near the bottom).  Pick the empty cell on the far right of the item you want to move; then pick the "Row Up" or "Row Down".  The BOM will still be in order, but the item numbers in the baloons will be re-arranged.
