Dear Friends,

I m again in the forum after a long pause. My question is ,what is the best metarial for piping for soft water up to 25 ppm as caco3 ,250 tds and ph 7.5( from reverse osmosis plant). Presently i m using GI piping for pressure up to 4 bar. piping is over head in the process unit and heigh is approx. 18 feet above the floor.

RE: Pipng for RO water supply.

No problems with GI with those conditions. You can use PVC as a better option.

Regards,

In Australia we use ABS manufactured by Tyco ( Eurapipe). Details are on www.tycowater.com.au.

They manufacture up to DN 800.

Its not the same material that they had all those problems with in the USA. The formulation is different.

Manufacture and testing is all to AS 3518-2004.

They also manufacture a product called K Flo which is ABS PU foam core and ABS sleeve. Fantastic for cooling water & chilled water services.

Absolutely no corrosion. The smooth surfaces prevent scale build up.

ABS is also manufactured in Malaysia and Indonesia.
