Quadro FX 330 versus GeforceFX 5200 PCI
Quadro FX 330 versus GeforceFX 5200 PCI
(OP)
I have a FX5200 that I hacked the firmware to look like a QuadroFX 500. We are buying new CAD machines that are PCIexpress. They are wanting to get me a FX 330, but was wondering if it was even worth getting over keeping my current card. I told them to save the money for a better card down the road. Will I see any increase in performance versus the hacked 5200?
Thanks,
Brandon

RE: Quadro FX 330 versus GeforceFX 5200 PCI
With the AGP cards the I/O passage is still a single bridge of information passing back and forth. It's only so wide for the input data to the output data.
With the PCI Express there are 2 bridges. One for input and the other for output.
This is what I found and read in a private document that I read through www.newslettersonline.com

And here 2 hits I got from doing a search at the above site:
http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20040310/...
http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20040816/...
But for the most part your goign to have to wait for someone to benchmark them or have them order you the new card and you test it (Benchmark) yourself.
