Equiangular spiral

Equiangular spiral

RE: Equiangular spiral

Curve by table is the only way.

Run that equation in a mathematical software.  Get as many X,Y data points as you want for the smoothness of the curve.  Use those data points in the curve by table command.

RE: Equiangular spiral

A curve table is probably the fastest method, but you might also be able to create it with construction geometry.  I created an involute curve once using this method.  Since an involute can be defined as the path traversed by a point on a string as the string is unwound from a circle, I mimicked this in a sketch.  The trick was using the variable table to make the "string" segment lengths equal to the corresponding arc lengths.  You could incorporate your equation in the variable table.

RE: Equiangular spiral

Yes, I can descibe how to construct it. However it would be better if I could post a jpeg image or a dwg file. It is easier to see how it is done.
Does anybody know how to post a file?

If you are looking for the mathematical progression for a nautilus-type shell, use the Golden Rectangle Method in sketch mode to develop the curves.
