Pile Anchor Cap
Pile Anchor Cap
(OP)
Hello,
I am interested the design a pile anchor cap. The anchor cap has a tie rod running through it and two piles embedded in it. The cap needs to be designed to transfer the load from the tie rods to the piles. How do I go about determining the amount of reinforcement required for the cap?
Can anyone provide some guidance on what needs to be checked?
In advance, thanks.

RE: Pile Anchor Cap
1. What type, size piles? (Timber? Steel HP? Concrete?, etc.)
2. Direction of the load relative to the piles? (Up? Down? Lateral?, etc.)
3. Where is the load applied to the cap, relative to the pile?
Horizontal Reference: (Between them? Off to one side?, etc.)
Vertical Reference: (Below the pile tops? Above the pile tops?, etc.)
4. Approximate magnitude of the applied load?
5. Any other loads on the piles? (Part of a foundation?, etc.)
