External pipe thread representation

External pipe thread representation

It is great to be able to create an internal pipe thread using the hole wizard, including the cosmetic thread representation.  Am I missing something, or is there no equivalent for representing an external pipe thread?

Thanks,

Tim

RE: External pipe thread representation

In the part, select cosmetic thread, select O.D. Type dia.
Or, insert, annotations, cosmetic thd.

That did the trick.  I didn't see anything that indicated that it was a cosmetic pipe thread and I didn't know SolidWorks was smart enough to know to follow a tapered surface from a simple edge.  I guess it is!

Thanks,

Tim

RE: External pipe thread representation

Yes, it does some very cool stuff.
you're welcome
