Inserting reference plane

Inserting reference plane

Inserting reference plane

(OP)
Suppose I have an assembly. I want to insert a midplane between two parallel planes that belong to 2 different parts. How can I do this without creating any additional entities? Insert->Reference Geometry feature does have the capability to insert a plane parallel to another plane and through a point (midpoint in my case) but how do I figure out where the midpoint is between 2 planes that are not on the same part?

RE: Inserting reference plane

1) Use an Equation which references the distance between the two parts (Dist1) & the distance from one of the parts to the plane you want centred (Dist2).
The Equation should read Dist2@... = Dist1@... /2

2) Make a Layout or Skeleton sketch which has 2 lines of equal length runnning between the 2 parts. Place the centred plane at the intersection of the 2 lines.
