Windows XP SP2

(OP)
Is anyone out there using SP2? Since I rebuilt my machine with XP SP2, I have not been able to start UG normally. My work around is to go into \UGII and run ugspawn.bat. That will usually start UG. After the first time I run UG as mensioned, I can start UG normally until I reboot, then back to the beginning. I have the feeling it has something to do with the added security in SP2, but I am not sure how or why.

RE: Windows XP SP2

From what I've seen on the UG BBS, UGS is recommending not to install SP2 yet.

RE: Windows XP SP2

Just confirmed:

In the Unigraphics Systems newsgroup, there is a thread titled 'XP SP-2' dated 27AUG04.  The last post is from Harrison Spain of UGS as follows:

[quote]Please hold off installing SP2 until the UGS certification report is published.  We are finding several issues that are not apparent at first blush.

The best way to get the certification report as soon as it is published is to subscribe to SFBMAIL (the GTAC E-Mail distribution list).

Send a mail message to sfbmail-subscribe@support.ugs.com (the body and subject of the mail message is ignored).
