Photoworks Render Manager Problem

Photoworks Render Manager Problem

Photoworks Render Manager Problem

(OP)
Is there a way to remove all photoworks information from a file after it has been rendered.  Whenever I click on the Render Manager Tab SW closes and gives me an unhandled error message.  It only does it with one file and works normally with all others.  This is SW 2005 SP0 on Win XP SP2.

Thanks

RE: Photoworks Render Manager Problem

Have you clean your TEMP's out lately? See FAQ559-884

XP SP2 isn't support I hope you know that. SW may work on it?? but SW recommends that you don't update until SP1.0 of SW05 or SP5.0 of SW04

Temp's are clean and I've reinstalled hoping to fix any corrupted files.

I do know it's not supported but we've had it running on several machines in the office with no problems so I decided to give it a try.  What's really strange is that it is only affecting one particular assembly that I have never had a problem with until now.

Thanks

RE: Photoworks Render Manager Problem

You might be able to run SW but you should not be able to reinstall SW04 or 05, because the Windows installer is a different version between SP's of XP.

To remove a photoworks material simply click on the photoworks tab and click and expand the Materials folder. Highlight the material(s) and click the delete key.

Do this for scenes etc...

I just removed XP SP2 and reinstalled SW05 yet again, no difference.  it has to be something corrupted with the individual file.

That is exactly what I can't do.  When I click on the photoworks tab (render manage) in the maager block, it kicks me out of SW giving me the unhandled error.  All other functionality (that I use) is normal.  I need to remove all rendering completely as if it were never rendered and then try to create the rendering again, if that's possible.

Thanks

RE: Photoworks Render Manager Problem

maybe try removing the photoworks add-in and then open the file.

RE: Photoworks Render Manager Problem

Did you clean out the registry when before you reinstalled?

Try opening it up on another machine. This will help rule out it being your machine of the file.

I tried removing the add-in, opening the file and saving it, no difference.

I just opened it on another computer and had the same result.

Any other thoughts on removing the rendering info from the file?

Thanks

RE: Photoworks Render Manager Problem

You can't remove the renderings or materials, etc... from the file without having it open ins SW. If it's doing this on another computer the problem is the file and all you can do with that is send it to your VAR and have them send it to SW for a possible repair.
