sheet size "custom"?
sheet size "custom"?
(OP)
i have created a new sheet formate and am haveing problems with linking the sheet size. in this case i started with the default a-landscape format and deleted all the default notes and boarders in order to make a new custom title block. when i link the sheet size to a text note it always says the size is "custom" not A or B or whatever. am i doing something wrong? it would be a real pain to make all my sheet formats for different drawing sizes by only deleating the default pre-provided items that i won't end up using. whats up?

2) Give it a name.
3) Then start a new drawing with a particular sheet size or pick the width and height yourself.
4) Add your Sheet format to the sheet.
5) Then do a File\Save As - (Change the Save as type to Drawing Template) and save it.
Now if you have all your File Locations set up correctly, then next time you click File\New - You will see your new template with your Sheet format and new sheet size. This template also contains your Document properties that you setup when you were first making this template.

thanks for your quick response.
also we are using SW2004 sp 0.0 and W2000PRO. could this be a bug that was fixed in later service packs?

Give this a try. Open your drawing that shows the newly inserted format info is only visible when you’re editing the sheet format. Now click File in the main menu, and then click “Save Sheet Format…” Create a new part and see if you can put that part onto your newly saved template.
