Ford ECU Programming for TV Show

Ford ECU Programming for TV Show

(OP)
Hello all, I am interested in obtaining PC or Palm software and cable for reprogramming Ford ECU's. We are currently filming a new TV Show for a major network, and want to drag race a 2003 Expedition 5.4L. We have already installed a custom cold air induction, and custom 3" exhaust. We have noticed that there are programmers for diesels that can change settings while the vehicle is being driven. Also the power gains obtained by changing factory settings on the diesel are phenominal. Why are there no such devices for the gas version engines, and why are the peformance gains for gas substantially less than the Diesel? We do not want to use the one time programmers like superchips, which only hold one program per vehicle. We will be shooting many episodes and need to program multiple vehicles. If there is a software that could be run on a Palm or Laptop, that would be cool.

Best Regards,

RE: Ford ECU Programming for TV Show

Is it a turbo diesel? Turbo diesels respond so well to programming because of the option to use more boost, gas version usually don't have this option thereofre their performance increase is less.

Yes, we will be using the gas versions of these vehicles.
