304L Nitrc corrosion?

304L Nitrc corrosion?

304L Nitrc corrosion?

(OP)
We're finding black particles coming through our nitric acid lines. Lines are 304L / 97% nitric acid. Particles are comprised of Fe,Cr,Mn.

We're assuming corrosion of the 304L over time is causing this contamination, but as 304L is the material of choice for working with conc nitric acid - is there something we're missing?

Another material perhaps?
