Structural Design/Drafting Software - BIM??

Structural Design/Drafting Software - BIM??

Structural Design/Drafting Software - BIM??

(OP)
Hello,

I just found this forum and I'm hoping to get some feedback as to what software is being utilized by engineers for their work.

I'm a structural draftsman researching which BIM (Building Information Model) software is being used for the design and documentation of structural construction documents.

An example would be Tekla Structures.  This seems like a decent product, but it has limitations in preparing the documents (from what I've found that is).  Building Systems is tailored for the MEP disciplines, Revit and ArchiCAD are for Architectural.

Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with the software they are using in regards to this topic?

Thanks,

Rick
