Rebar locator rental

Rebar locator rental

Rebar locator rental

(OP)
Does anyone know a nation wide chain that rents rebar locators? Also does anyone have a recommendation for the unit to rent for locating rebar in a 10" thick concrete wall?

RE: Rebar locator rental

Call the local United Rentals.  First I'd look into a metal detector. Maybe one of your employee's has one.

JimRCasper-

James Instruments Inc rents several types of nondestructive rebar locators that may be applicable to your need. They rent them by the week.  They are on the web I believe.  Regards.

RE: Rebar locator rental

I tried my local United Rentals (Florida) and got a negative answer when looking for a bar locator about 3 years ago.

So I called up the local Hilti sales rep and borrowed one from them.  I only needed it for a couple of hours, so we called it a sales demo.

You say 10" thick, but are you looking for bars 10" deep or bars near the surface of a 10" thick wall?  If you are not requiring depth beyonjd 3-4", you can order several different models by Zircon from Grainger.com for anywhere from $75 - $150 dollars, depending on features.   Really useful, they also detect plumbing, wiring etc.. in the wall.
