pH measurement of oily water after gas/water separator

pH measurement of oily water after gas/water separator

(OP)
Hello All:

I'm looking for a relatively maintenance-free and robust solution for accurate measurement of pH for use after a gas/water separator in an oily water environment.  Max temperatures will be around 120F with pressures possibly reaching nearly 500 psi.

Doing this type of thing in a refinery-type environment has been tried many times--but has anyone actually had any long term success?  Possibly through the use of on-line cleaning systems?

Any suggestions for probe manufacturers?

Thanks in advance for any help.

RE: pH measurement of oily water after gas/water separator

As far as I know there is a pH measurement system available that works under pressure, where the measuring electrode is cyclicaly dipped into a solution/suspension in a bypass line by means of a hydraulic motor, returned back to a standby position where it is cleaned by deliberate solution or a series of them, then calibrated against a buffer and ready for a new cycle. Try to search the web at Knick, that's the name of the company. Regretfully I do not know the details.

Mettler Toledo makes a very nice automatically retracting pH probe that is suitable for your application.  I believe that it is they type of setup that M777182 was referring to.
