Anhydrous Ammonia Vessel Inspection Services

Anhydrous Ammonia Vessel Inspection Services

Anhydrous Ammonia Vessel Inspection Services

(OP)
I am trying to locate a company who can provide "turn-key" non-destructive testing and inspection services for a small industrial anhydrous storage facility that has been idle for 3-4 years. In addition to the inspection of two storage vessels, functional testing of valves (primarily control valves) to verify stem packing integrity, etc.; checking level instrument calibration; and inspection of relief devices is needed. The facility has not been used for several years and still contains a small amount of liquid ammonia in the vessels.

Thanks,
Steve

RE: Anhydrous Ammonia Vessel Inspection Services

Wilkie;
Not sure that you would find any "one" company that can provide the level or detail of specific services you would need under one hat.

I would probably look at hiring a reputable Engineering firm that specializes in petrochemical engineering functions, and have them sub-contract specific inspection services. This could be arranged similar to an EPC (engineer, procure and construct) contract where the responsibility is primarily placed on the engineering firm. They would be responsible for evaluating the results, and providing recommendations to you. This sounds like a relatively large project scope that should be controlled by an experienced Project Manager.
