Determination of Material Scoring Limit (Flash Temperature limit)

Determination of Material Scoring Limit (Flash Temperature limit)

Determination of Material Scoring Limit (Flash Temperature limit)

There appear to be many different tests for determining wear rates for materials.  I am interested in finding the flash temperature limit for scoring(scuffing?) of various materials when localized welding of the 2 surfaces starts and produces 'scratch' indications.
Thanks

RE: Determination of Material Scoring Limit (Flash Temperature limit)

Flash temperature is something I normally associate with solvent ignition as in flash point.
Abrasive wear is associated with scratches
Localised welding is exactly that.

AGMA 2001 Annex A contains some general information and source references which may be of some help.
