WINDOWS XP/SERVICE PACK 2

WINDOWS XP/SERVICE PACK 2

(OP)
Does anyone have any experience / comments about the new Service Pack 2 update Microsoft just released for XP Professional with regards to running SolidWorks?.... or just in general OS issues?

Thanks.   John

RE: WINDOWS XP/SERVICE PACK 2

I have upgraded. The only issue I have is my network acting weird since then. Not related to SolidWorks.

RE: WINDOWS XP/SERVICE PACK 2

SW has advised that SW2004 not be used with XP/SP2 until SW2004 SP5  and SW2005 not be used with XP/SP2 until SW2005 SP1

RE: WINDOWS XP/SERVICE PACK 2

It's pasted all over their site. Don't upgrade to SP2 of XP

But if you upgraded your SW, before your system, then your probably alright. You can't upgrade to the latest SP4.1 or install SW05 SP0.0 with XP SP2. You will have to rollback your SP or your XP SP. If you bought a new machine the only option is to Reinstall Windows XP SP1.
