Selection of Valve lining Elastomer!!

Selection of Valve lining Elastomer!!

Selection of Valve lining Elastomer!!

(OP)
I am wondering what will be the best suitable elastomer (Buna-N, EPDM, PVC or something else) for rubber seat/ lining. The fluid being either Acid (0.2% wt  HCL) or 1% wt. NaOH. Temperature may vary between 5 -40 C.  A quick reply is highly appericiated. Thanx

RE: Selection of Valve lining Elastomer!!

natural soft or hard rubber or polyurethane appear suitable materials up to 65 deg. C
You will need to run the question opast the actual supplier so that they can offer their best grade.

RE: Selection of Valve lining Elastomer!!

The problem that you have is with the pH range some fillers may not be stable.
I would be more worried about hte fillers than the elastomer.
Ask the supplier lots of questions.
