part not a valid version

part not a valid version

part not a valid version

(OP)
I am new to UG and when I try to open a drawing in NX2 I get the following error: part not a valid version of component part. I know I have fixed this before but it was 5 months ago and I dont remember what I did.

Thanks
Chris

RE: part not a valid version

Open the assembly (drawing) with No Components
Use the Open As in the ANT on the component name
Select the component you want

"Wildfires are dangerous, hard to control, and economically catastrophic."

RE: part not a valid version

I am coming across the same error. However, when I try to use "open componet as" I get the error "This part is not a version of the original". These should be valid, they came directly from G.M. Any suggestions?

RE: part not a valid version

Can't explain why, but we experience this as well. It usually suffices to remove the component from the assembly and then add it back in. It should show up under latest revision.

RE: part not a valid version

Anoter option is to right click the component in the ANT and use Substitute the Remove and Add.  This works also.

RE: part not a valid version

You can also try to load the component before loading the assembly.

"Wildfires are dangerous, hard to control, and economically catastrophic."
"Fixed in the next release" should replace "Product First" as the PTC slogan.

RE: part not a valid version

Thanks. That worked for me.

RE: part not a valid version

Another solution is to toggle on allow substitutions in your load options.
