Insert mode

(OP)
Hi,

I'm in insert mode but somehow i can't seem to move it up the model tree to where i want it to be. I have a total of 237 features and i can only move it up to 232 and nothing before that. I have restarted wildfire and opened other files but it seems that only this file has this problem. Does anyone knows what is the problem and how to fix it?

Thanks!

RE: Insert mode

Gwenn

You are working with a part file that has read-only features. Use 'Edit-->Feature Operations-->Read Only' (Just 'Edit-->Read Only' in Wildfire 2) and then click "Clean" to clear the Read-Only setting on the features.

Mark,

Thanks for helping! but it's still not working. I've done what you suggested but it says "no read-only features found" Can it be any other reason? I find it really weird to just be able to move the insert arrow to the last few features and nothing before those.

Anyway, thanks again, at least now i know there's this read only option!

RE: Insert mode

Gwenn,

Maybe you have some supressed features at the begining. Show them in your model tree.

RE: Insert mode

Try exiting out of insert mode and then try entering  insert mode with out dragging the arrow if this is still possible.

Michael

Hi, I'm looking for a Job.
Do you know of any at your company?

RE: Insert mode

(OP)
Thanks all. It still doesn't work. No supressed feature, everything should be active. Can i still get out of insert mode in Wildfire? i guess i'll get a new copy from the customer.

RE: Insert mode

Can you make a datum plane and drag it up the model tree?  Sometimes anything you do will unlock and start functionality again.

RE: Insert mode

gwenn,

You could use Pro/PROGRAM functionality to suppress many components based on the status of a parameter. You could use this method if you know exactly what feature number you want to go to all the time. It might look like a Rube Goldberg solution to insert mode, but I know it would work.

cehall, adding the datum plan didn't work.

mloew, i wish i have Pro/Program.

But i did made the insert mode work. i supressed the last few features, and came to this msg of "This view has been frozen because of illegal view instructions." and after suppressing this feature that gave me the msg, it worked! i could drag the insert arrow to anywhere i want.

Thanks for all your input!

RE: Insert mode

gwenn,

Pro/PROGRAM should be part f a foundation installation, I thought. I can't beleive one would need a special module for this functionality.
